COPLA Nicaragua

The team at Nitlapán considers crucial an initial drive to establish a strong network or coalition of civil society organisations of first and second level (who often fail to coordinate their activities and policy influence initiatives). They plan to do so by producing sector studies (discussion papers) from three countries in the region and bringing the various civil society actors in Nicaragua together over a series of meetings and workshops to discuss this and existing evidence and experiences. These three activities (studies and spaces of reflexion and dialogue) could be said to constitute the inception phase of the strategy developed by Nitlapán. Further phases involve more targeted use of knowledge and the development of relationships with other policy actors including policymakers and the corporate sector.
