COPLA Regional
CIPPEC will contribute to the project through the identification and the systematization of lessons about political incidence in a regional level. Based on the contributions of the partners from the different countries, CIPPEC will be connecting and promoting the exchange of this new knowledge. In order to do so, it will develop communication channels that will facilitate fluid interchange amongst the actors and regional spaces (networks, for example). Later, work will focus in managing these relationships to ensure a constant and productive exchange of knowledge.

A Participative Planning Workshop took place last 17th and 18th of April, in Montevideo, for the Latin American Gender and Trade Network (LAGTN), organized by Interdisciplinary Center of Studies on Develpoment – Uruguay (CIEDUR) and financed by (International Development Research Center) IDRC – Canada.

Informe Regional sobre Situación Política de la Mujer en América Latina
Con la entrega del presente Informe Regional ALOP completa un ciclo de estudios sobre género y democracia. El documento brinda una visión general y bien documentada de lo ocurrido en las últimas décadas en relación con el acceso y participación de las mujeres latinoamericanas en distintas instancias del poder político: sea como resultado de la elección popular, en el caso de su participación en el Parlamento y el poder local, o por designación directa en el caso de los cargos ministeriales. Analiza la importancia e influencia de la adopción de leyes de cuotas y el papel que han desempeñado los movimientos de mujeres en la región, así como la creciente incorporación -y contribución- del discurso de la igualdad de género en el debate sobre la democracia, y su indisoluble vinculación con la superación de las profundas desigualdades económicas, culturales, sociales y políticas que subsisten en la región.
